History of one roundabout

Aldesa - History of one roundabout

“History of one roundabout” – this is how we called the meeting summarizing our four-year work on the Poznań project – reconstruction and modernization of the Rataje roundabout.
The history of Rataj dates back to the thirteenth century. The first mention of this area comes from 1253. The village was incorporated into Poznań in 1925. In the 1950s and 1960s, large infrastructure investments took place here, a bridge over the Warta was built, and the roundabout itself was built as early as 1955. Large housing estates create a new residential district of Poznań. We entered it in 2018, when Poznań entrusted us with a project to improve communication in this area. We started with planning works, then we obtained a building permit (ZRID), reconstruction of the Rataje bus station, so as to complete the modernization of the entire roundabout in April 2022. At the peak of the works, up to 200 people worked here a day, and most of the partners were local companies.
We have put into use a modern and safe communication center of the district. Today, we can admire its beauty – a functional and integrated communication hub has been created and the comfort of travel has improved. Our priorities were: public transport, modern stops, greater safety for everyone – pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, more car lanes.
We would like to thank the entire team, our associates and cooperators as well as all units of the City of Poznań, who helped us so successfully in this task!
