Aldesa - Aldesa celebrates the inauguration of the expansion and modernization of the Tuxtla Gutiérrez – San Cristóbal de las Casas Highway in Chiapa, Mexico

Aldesa announces the official inauguration of the expanded and modernized Tuxtla Gutiérrez – San Cristóbal de las Casas Highway in Chiapas, Mexico, a significant project that enhances road connectivity and safety in the region. The ceremony was led by Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, and attended by Aldesa CEO Javier Lamas and José Luis Moncada, Project Director in Mexico. Both leaders highlighted Aldesa’s commitment to delivering sustainable, high-quality infrastructure.

Executed in collaboration with Concesionaria de Autopistas del Sureste (CAS), the project involved an investment of 1.04 billion pesos. Key upgrades include the expansion to a third lane, construction of new bridges, installation of solar lighting, embankment stabilization, and asphalt resurfacing. Enhanced signage and drainage systems were also integrated to ensure optimal performance, particularly during the rainy season, significantly improving traffic flow and safety.

This expansion underscores Aldesa’s dedication to fostering sustainable infrastructure that drives economic and social progress in the communities it serves. The upgraded highway not only reduces travel time and improves connectivity between Chiapas’s main cities but also contributes to safer travel and environmental protection.

Aldesa has been a cornerstone shareholder of CAS since 2007. Alongside its partner, AINDA Energía e Infraestructura, Aldesa operates and maintains the Tuxtla Gutiérrez – San Cristóbal de las Casas (46.5 km) and Arriaga – Ocozocoautla (93 km) toll highways. These vital corridors link key cities in Chiapas to the Pacific coast and highlands. In 2023, these routes supported over 12 million trips, highlighting their pivotal role in regional mobility and economic growth.
