Aldesa signs contract to build tram line in Bratislava for more than €83 million
Aldesa has signed the works contract for the construction of a 3,9-kilometre-long high speed tramway line in Bratislava. The value of the contract is more than €83 million.
The contract concerns the construction of the second part of the tram in Bratislava – Petržalka on the Bosakova street – Janíkov dvor section. The commissioner of the construction is the City of Bratislava (Hlavné mesto SR Bratislava). The contract will involve the construction of 3,9 km of tram line, 7 tram stops, the complete reconstruction of roads and their intersections along the line, two new tram bridges, a cycle path and pavements, as well as demolition and removal of a 280 m long unfinished expressway tunnel. The value of the contract is €83.043.464 (no VAT).
The first stage of execution of the tramway to Petržalka took place in 2013 to 2015, at which time Starý most and Štúrová streets were reconstructed and a tram track to Bosáková street was built. The stops will have a total length of 65 metres with barrier-free access. The track will have two tramway bridges. The sections between the stops will be covered with greenery. The open track surface at the tram depot loop will be covered with crushed gravel. The crossings will be operated by traffic lights while the concept of public transport preference will be also applied. A 4m wide cycle path has been also designed parallel to the tram line track.
– We are pleased and proud of our first tramway contract in the Slovak capital. We have carried out similar projects in agglomerations and large cities in Poland, we have a lot of experience and we will put it to good use on this project,” says Javier Lamas, managing director. “It’s not only a new tram, but also modern road and cycle junctions for the inhabitants of Bratislava.
