The implementation of the project in the “design and build” formula of a new building intended to serve the Institute of Geological Sciences of the Jagiellonian University, located within the area of the Campus of the 600th Anniversary of the Jagiellonian University Revival in Kraków. The new building has been designed and built preserving the principles of sustainable development, in particular care for the natural environment and economical management of raw materials throughout the whole construction cycle. The building has been equipped with a BMS system and photovoltaic systems (roof-facade) and ground heat pumps. It is heated only by the heat of the Earth, and the energy is acquired from sunlight to a large extent. Also a green roof has been created, reflecting the natural environment of the Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska region.
